About Us

Our History

In the late 1960’s, sons Bill and John took over the building business and to this day John remains proprietor with his son Ryan Moody as Architect and General Manager for the company. Having such a long association with the local area, the business has seen and responded to many changes as better roads have made the area more accessible to Melbourne based residents. In the early years with land in plentiful supply and a ‘buyers market’ for real estate, Seaspray Homes responded with a selection of Project Homes that could be completed to various stages such as lockup or finish off right to completion. As a reaction to the market, these homes were well built but a little ‘spartan’ by today’s standards.

As the market matured and clients expectations expanded, Seaspray Homes moved with the times, developing a design service proven over time to be responsive to our clients needs. Our business continues to grow in response to client demand, completing domestic construction projects with either modest budgets or projects in the multi-million dollar range.

Our Team

Caring for our community’s natural and built environment, out team is passionate about crafting well designed, durable, healthy, energy efficient homes and structures. Seaspray Homes is an agile team comprised of 11 core personnel in the office and 14 on site — including carpenters, apprentices, and labourers — at any one time and fluctuating to bring in extra trades and specialist support from an extensive and established network as necessary.

Given our dedicated stance on ethical procurement, we are constantly cultivating old and new relationships with suppliers, trades and specialists on the Mornington Peninsula ensuring that, wherever possible, we are supporting local, working sustainably, remaining agile to availability and procuring materials that integrate seamlessly given their genesis within an area of profound coastal biodiversity. This means that many of the products and materials we work with are readily available and structurally resilient to the conditions particular to the Peninsula.

Quality Assurance

Quality assurance is the backbone of Seaspray Homes processes and methodologies. Over the decades, we have implemented and evolved in-house and on-site processes that allow us to prevent and mitigate challenges that would otherwise run projects over time and over budget.

Through a combination of software (such as defect management and reporting software) and a proven strategic approach, we have numerous strongholds in place to ensure the smooth and meticulous operation of each project while remaining agile to providing solutions outside of our control. Our project management software connects the works on site to our office in real time with visual and written reporting. Through long-standing industry relationships, a focus on company culture, continued training and the adoption of new developments, we are confident in our ability to retain quality assurance excellence.
